Well 640KB is still enuf

Well 640KB is still enuf for what you basically do, i.e browse, email and chat.
The games and the other “i can” stuff is what takes the rest of space, without which too, trust me, i would use the internet as often
so yes 640KB is enough, it is just that “We need to do something” which adds up the costs

The state of broadband is going from bad to worse ;

Very tru man very true
The state of broadband is going from bad to worse ;
I had even written an email to the it minister and trai about regularisation of broadband facilities and lowering costs but i did not get any reply
I myself pay 500 rupees (approx 15$) and get a 96 kbps connection annd that too which gets frequently disconnected

WiMax in India

Regards. Your points regarding WiMax in India are valid.But don’t you think that it should be done in an experimental basis in India? Telecom BABUS who introduced GSM in India didn’t want to introduce CDMA. But later private telecom farms like Reliance, TATA etc brought it to India. When the existing GSM infrastructure faced a challange from the CDMA front, our own BSNL was bound to introduce it.
Intel may be the force behind WiMax, but good technology should be accepted by the people.

un tested

As I mentioned, it is “un tested” technology. Till the time it proves it’s merit in the trials, it makes no sense to introduce it for any reason.
