What pissis me off is that the so called broadband ISPs keep comparing their sickly slow 256 kbps connections with dial up connections !! even their mindset about billing per MB download reeks of dialup age. STOP. Broadband means always ON and unlimited connection. And that too at atleast 512 kbps which is a standard worldwide.

It was indeed fun & education reading through various posts.Am from Kerala, intent to go for net connection on my desktop PC with an GPRS / bluetooth hand set along with a bluetooth dongle and AIRTEL GPRS monthly subscription of Rs. 250-. Plan is to go for Sony Ericson T68i handset. PC operating system is Windows XP. Since I am new to this attempt, appreciate comments from anyone knowledgeable - comment on the suitability or otherwise of the intended handset, alternative least costly ones in market (no fancy camera stuff - I just need net on my PC, that’s all…), step by step configuration steps, etc. Appreciate a mail copy to knvntvm@yahoo.co.in. Hey ppl,Iam new 2 BB forum,i need u r help.Iam frm Thakur complex(kandivli) ,mumbai.I had some bad experience's wth the ISP's in my aera.I used Hathway fr a yr or so and discntd it as speeds kept on falling wth constant dwnloads.Thn i switchd to sifybb,it was my wrst nightmare the local CTO was a useless retard who didnt knw anythng about netwrking so 12 days/mnth the net was dwn.Now i have discntd sify as well.Now i need a good ISP providing 512 kbps line with good dwnload speeds(as i dwnload atleast 5gb/week)and less or no dwntimes.I contacted Exactt they say they need permission to put sme antenna as the last connct the have is 1.2 kms frm my place,and have never turned up.Anyone frm thakur complex or neaby please help

hi im totally frustrated with my ISP . They seem to get worse day by day. PACENET is what they call themselves for name sake because theres no speed in their connection. We people from Malad are doomed because our cable operator (Sonali Cable) is not allowing any other ISP to enter. He is cheating people in Malad big time and we cannot do anything about it because hes Monopoly. He gets a fair cut from Pacenet. Out of 100% that we pay for our Internet Sonali Cable takes 50%. India is supposed to be a developing country but people like these are the ones who hinder growth. We used to pay 650Rs for 25 kbps which sucked. Now we pay 600Rs for 48kbps thats what they call it just giving it a higher number. But the speed is somewhat the same. Many people in malad , orlem want to remove Pacenet but theres no other option for us. This forum is the only way i can create a sense of unity amongst residents of Malad. People please raise your voices and shout out your opinions against Pacenet and most on SONALI CABLE the root of cheaters.
