BeamCable = BullCrap cable

Hi,



I am a Beamcable Broadband user for the last 14 months. Im on 512 kbps plan @ 1,500/-

I can't get 1/10th of that connection paying 3 times the price. What I have on the name of broadband is a connection that
at best gives me 5 KBps download speed and when I am downloading something, my messengers end up disconnecting themselves
for the lack of bandwidth available to them. Have some pity on me.



Don't Waste your hard earned money on BeamCable = BullCrap cable









I would never ever recommend BeamCable to anyone . I don't even want my money back, just stop them from taking anyone
elses.

what is the download charges in general per Mb

what is the download charges in general per Mb and also in Rs.250/ per month plan.As because it would be a fatal risk to see any doenloadable program and viewing its detail whose program is not known without downloading it.Is there any special charge for viewing a page,and what does it cost listening songs or watching movie preview .Does the rate vary in dial up network and BROADBAND.

broadband in mumbai!

I checked out a few isps.. here's what they have to say:
Airtel : Great schemes with good service (my first choice).. They said they have reached only till Lokhandwala (Thats like 10 min from my place !)
Exattnet : This was second first choice.. (really cheap prices!). They will be coming to my area in a coupl of months. (They are negotiating a deal with 7 star.. my cable operator.. the cable-net provider from whom I want freedom)
Reliance: Didnt care much abt this one.. they said they will take some time, as they havent even reached NEAR my area.
Pacenet: after exattnet, this one was prefered.. When I asked them whter they provide services in 4 bunglows, they said 'Haanji... bilkul', I was so happy.. finally I get freedom from the crappy scheme of 7 star. Then he asked 'aapke building ka naam kyaa hai?' When I told him the name, he says 'Sorry sir, hum udhar provide nahin karte' .
Im like, what sh*t man.. why not in my building.. these 7 star guys are like big gundaas here.Looks like I'll have to go for MTNL.. But all of us know.. MTNL hai, toh sahi (nahin) hai!

Hathway now blocks VoIP ports - You cannot use MS NetMeeting or any softphone from your PC. You need to give them a letter why you need the ports opened - To Use MS NetMeeting ofcourse ID8s! They will not tell you this when they take your money!

Exatt speed problem : since last 10 days my connection has become slow

I am using exatt in goregaon (W), near movie star cinema. since last 10 days my connection has become slow and whn i chk my bandwith it comes to only 32kbs (my plan is 64kbs.). there customer service is really bad and no respnse or thy knw the poroblem and doesnt want to admit.Is anybody else facing this problem. I came to hear from sources that there is bandwith problm with exatt.
Alos if somebody can let me knw the diff between SINGLE USER AND MULTI USER pans of exatt. whether Multi user guarantees more bandwith

I am also a victim of the ISPs operating in India. It matters little to mention names because every one of them take you
for a ride. The so-called ethical companies are not answerable if your business stops due to broad band lines being down.
We always portray ourselves as an IT destination, we thump our chests from the rooftops to say we are advanced in our
software development, etc. etc.

But when it comes to accountability we are in the PITS. This will be the deciding factor for our country's future.

Our service providers, bureaucrats and people who matter must attend to this endemic problem on priority.

Our nation is divided on innumerable issues, every one playing the EGO game and nobody wanting to take commitments and act
responsibly.

We can bully the weakest and most the vulnerable people to satisfy our egos.

Example : If our lines are down we shout at the poor linesman or technician. The real problem or mess may be because of
wrong decisions taken place by the seniors / owners of the ISPs / service providers or using substandard hardware.

We really must work on our attitude and the will to fight the appropriate authorities.



A dangerous situation for our country because we are then responsible to enhance frustration levels of innocent people and
let the guilty go scot free.

It isn’t the broadband push alone that would make all the difference. Point is that you need to provide an access to information to disadvantaged groups so that they can make informed choices.

It’s a vicious cycle; a rather chicken and egg situation. Broadband push is one aspect of bringing about rural prosperity; by no means all alone.

It isn’t the urban educated making choices for them. Given the choice, who would want to work as bonded laborers? Or wallow in illiteracy? Point here is that I am educated enough to realise that nation cannot progress if we don’t carry our compatriots along. Till the time, we don’t realise our duties (something that exisiting educational infrastructure is woefully inadequate to do), we cannot hope for a better change.

Let’s give everyone a choice.

utility of broadband for those in rural areas

I really doubt the utility of broadband for those in rural areas. When the vast majority of people do not have access to clean drinking water, sanitation or proper roads, is broadband really a priority? Is it the people in villages asking for it or is it again a case of the urban educated, who knows what’s best for them making the choice for them?

This is my first post on this forum. I came across this forum when I searched for 'broadband sucks' in Google India.

I've had a lot of problems with Pacenet India and the local cable guy which I've posted on my blog post http://
thinkabdul.com/2006/01/11/pacenet-sucks-broadband-problems-in-india/. I am so frustrated that I don't know what to do. I
would appreciate if everyone who had problems with Pacenet/Other ISPs in Mumbai/New Mumbai to post their comments/
experiences so that I can send the link to the Pacenet management and probably threaten them. They've already lost a lot
of money due to the fiber optic cuts (from what I've heard from an internal source)

The telephone Dpt at Visakhapatnam is charging higher rate than are asked for.
I have taken Broad band service at Rs 250/package for up to o.4GB. Latest billshows Rs500/ How couid it happen? I am surprised. Please let me know how it happened.
